Hello, fellow horse enthusiasts!
I have been enthusiastically passionate about animals and especially horses for as long as I can remember. It was when I witnessed the power of touch completely transform a horse, mind and body, that I set out to learn about Equine Sports Therapy. It is with the help of my mentor, Casey, the whole team at Therapy Corner Store, my teachers at Northwest School of Animal Massage, and most importantly, all the horses I am blessed to lay my hands on that I am able to chase and fulfill this passion.
Bodywork has become an essential part of the recipe for success for these equine athletes, allowing them to achieve their full physical and mental potential. Massage does not just affect the muscular system, but it has been scientifically proven to have a positive impact on several other systems, including the circulatory, digestive, nervous, respiratory, lymphatic, integumentary, and skeletal systems. Touch alone is capable of reducing pain nociceptors' activity, halting inflammatory cytokine production, stimulating the release of endorphins and enkephalins to reduce stress and anxiety.
I use my hands-on palpation to assess the quality of muscles, fascia, and other soft tissues. I also evaluate the range of motion and address other aspects of the horse's body through my deep understanding of equine anatomy and kinesiology to provide the most specialized bodywork session possible. While hands-on treatment is the foundation of equine sports therapy, I have several assisting modalities in my toolbox that have proven useful in aiding in therapy.
I believe in a holistic approach to equine therapy, and it is my mission to give your horse a voice in order to allow them to reach their full physical and mental potential. If you're interested in learning more about the benefits of bodywork or would like more details on booking a session, please feel free to reach out via email, call, text or any of my social media pages. I'd love to hear about your horse!

With Love,
Maggie
Background
I want to share with you the importance of getting to know your Bodyworker!
Personally, I have dedicated countless hours to learning about equine massage and bodywork, both through hands-on experience and studying textbooks. I've had the privilege of traveling to attend clinics and internships in different locations, working with various breeds of horses, from Quarter Horses to Hanoverians to Thoroughbreds. I feel incredibly fortunate to have learned from some of the most knowledgeable and successful equine therapists in the industry, and to continue learning from amazing mentors at the Northwest School of Animal Massage. I am also currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science. I believe that the most important trait for any equine therapist is a never-ending desire to learn.
